Hello,
I have had this Vulcan 500 three months and have put nearly 3000 fun filled miles on it
. Friday on my way to work the bike stopped running and I coasted to a stop on the side of the freeway. It behaved exactly as if it had run out of gas, first losing throttle responsiveness, then short spurts of acceleration then only the bikes momentum turning the engine.
Once stopped I verified the position of the fuel switch was in position rather than askew, looked for fuel leaks, verified a full tank and tried to start her again. She started with some difficulty and I got back on the freeway. About 3-4 min later the scenario repeated itself, and I rode the rest of the way to work in short rides, stopping to re prime the carburetter every couple of minutes.
The bike has 5200 miles on it, and has never given me any troubles, nor were any reported to me by the previous owner. The bike it well maintained.
I really hope this is a minor issue and would love some assistance from anyone who can offer.
Thankyou,
pconnor
