Hey everyone! Hope this is the correct place to post this. If not let me know so I can post correctly. I am looking for a front sprocket for my bike. In my research I have found it called many different things. It is the front sprocket the chain wraps around. Maybe a front sprocket output? I need to know what part I need to replace this? It is stock. Internet search has been confusing. I have seen it all in my searches. Maybe a 15 tooth sprocket? I have also seen 417/15t. I need to replace this part and have no idea what I should be looking for. I just acquired this bike and have no previous history or even a manual. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The forum you posted in is correct.

We can sure try to help you out. You don't mention which country you are from and that may have an impact on finding the correct parts for your bike. Assuming this is a North American bike, the correct part number for the front sprocket is 13144-1310 and it has 15 teeth.

I easily found this by going to Partzilla dot com. First I selected the make of your bike then the year of your bike and then the model and then "transmission". Try it out and let us know if you have any problems.

Also if you have a local Kawasaki dealer they can always find the right parts for you.
Cheers.

If you are replacing a worn front sprocket you should know that normally we replace both sprockets and chain at the same time. If you only do the front sprocket it will wear out more quickly when used with a worn chain. If you install a brand new chain and don't replace both sprockets, then the worn sprocket will wear out your new chain more quickly which will then accelerate the wear on the new sprocket.

Quick question. what are the model types for this 2006? I am finding a lot of different "types" in my searches. For example I have seen things like "A1-A9F" and "A6f-A7F" etc. How do I know what I have? What are the differences in these "types" or does it even matter?

I checked the information on the frame and found mine is listed as a BN125A. I still would like to know the differences or meaning with all the "types".

While doing some searching I see this may be an A6F? So much to learn.

It is part of Kawasaki's method of tracking changes to their models. You might think the model year is all you need, but in some cases there are no changes between model years and sometimes there are changes in the middle of a model year.

Partzilla in North American shows your bike as BN125A6F with no changes in 2006 (at least in North America). It would help us if you told us what country you are in.

If a vendor lists a part as fitting A1-A9F that means the same part fits many years (versions) of that model. So that would be like all A1, A2, A3 all the way up to A9F. Partzilla will help you sort which years those relate to.

If in doubt, go to your dealer with your VIN and he can make sure you get the correct parts.
