I Am In The Process Right Now Of Completely Shaving Everything Of The Rear Fender Including The Hump For The Seat Latch And Repainting The Bike Complete. I Plan To Put The Tailamp And Signals In The Bags And Relocate The Lic Plate Too. Photos Will Soon Follow When I Complete.
Thanks For Your Comments

I Cut The Back Of The Seat Frame, Then I Took The End Of The Passenger Section And I Cut Off The Rounded End Of The Seat And Attched It Was Screws And Epoxy To Form The Back Crown Of The Seat.
JSPURGEON, have you got any detailed pics of that custom seat? I have been thinking of doing exactly the same for some time now and would realy appreciate to see some shots of the underside.

Heres Photos Of The Underside Of The 900 Seat. I Used Sheetm. Screws To Hold It In Place Until The Epoxy Hardened. I Used Jell Epoxy Hold It Would Stay In Place Better. Use Spray Adh. To Glue The Pieces Of Foam Together. Draw On The Seat With A Black Marker To Get The Shape You Are Going For, Use An Electric Filet Knife For The Heavy Cutting And 35 Grit Sandpaper On An Angle Grinder( 3inch Disc) For The Contouring And Shaping, 80 Grid Sandpaper For The Finishing Of The Foam. The Foam Has To Look Smooth Or The Lines Will Show Up Under The Cover. Go Low, Start Thick, You Cant Put The Foam Back On If You Get Too Much. Practise Shaping On The Foam You Are Not Using.

Now, Thats The 900 Seat, The Back Had To Be Higher To Coverup That Ugly Hump In The Rear Fender For That Factory Latch.

Now, Are You Making One For The 800a? I Didnt Put An Extention On The Bottom Side Of That Seat. Let Me Know If You Want Some Detail On That Seat.

Good Luck And Go Slow,,,

Thanks for the detailed description of the seat JSPURGEON, lots of usefull info there. Yes it will be for an 800A in my case, unless I go for the hinged solo seat I have laying around at home already. I don't want to hijack your 900 bagger thread but if you have more VN800 specific info on custom seats, please let me know.

still my fave 900 ive seen had no idea you made the seat yourself very very nice.... You continue to impress me.

No Signals And The Taillights Are Leds On The Bottom Of The Bags.
I Am Going To Try To Redo My Photos Today If The Light Is Right Outside. And Make A New Thread.
