Do you like it? I am looking for something like a Sport/touring bike for longer distances but I want to maintain the sport bike feel and look. I want something like the VFR, but I dont want a VFR cause they are overly expensive for the most part.

I really like my Z. It's got enough power to run with my buddy's Bandit, fuel injection, nice solid handling and decent ergo. The seat, however, slides you into the tank and is too hard. If you plan to sport tour look into a Corbin. I got mine for $6800 so there's plenty of room to add stuff before you're in VFR territory. Also, the windshield's only good to about 100.

z750

Got the z750 (non s version) last summer and have been very happy with it, been on one short trip on it, about 1100km. Good power fairly comfortable. I need to get a windshield I'm thinking though.

Have had a Z750, not the S for over a year now, never regretted it. It's fast, handles and brakes well and doesn't cost the earth to buy or maintain. Oh and to me it is one of the best looking bikes out there as well.

spd:)

I have the predicessor to the Z750S and love it. The Z750S made some improvements over the ZR-7S, things like fuel-injection, better exhaust setup, a bit lighter, etc. A lot of ZR riders use their bikes for touring, so with the Z750S you should be good there. A complaint about the ZR was that the seat also pushed you into the tank (although I never noticed that), but an aftermarket seat usually helped that. Corbin makes 2 seats for the Z750S, so you may want to check them out. I don't think I can answer anything else, since my bike's an 02 and is closer to a Bandit performance wise.

Have fun shopping!

I agree, got mine 2 weeks ago and love it so far. Seat is hard :( Also there aren't a lot of color choices, I picked blue out of blue, blue and blue.

I got mine back at the middle of July and have 1200 or so miles on it. The buzziness of the engine does fade after break-in (I've heard complaints elsewhere). The z750 is a lot more powerful (~25hp) than the ZR as the ZR has the old KZ 2-valve air cooled motor while the z is a sleeved z1000 motor. You also get a 6-speed (z) versus a 5 (zr). I actually waited for Kawi to re-do the ZR before I bought one.

That seat looks way more comfortable then my 636 lol, on my bike Im constantly pushed down into the tank and my other 2 friends down below. lol

I would really like to sell my 636 and get a used z1000 or even maybe one of these z750's.

I got to really like the Z, I have 6500+ miles & it's running a lot smoother now. Just ordered a hugger to keep the dirt off the shock area. I messed with the settings & I don't slide as much into the tank. I also like the Z1000, you can pick up a left over 2004 for the same price as a new Z750S.

I don't like the "pipe organ" exhaust on the Z1K or the lack of a fairing. Otherwise I might have gotten it.
that's why this bike is one of the most modded bike's i have ever owned.
i have alot done so far and more to go. check it out in the dragons den.
