can anyone tell me how to set the chain tension on a 1992 kdx 250, the manual is a little confusing.

Just make sure the tension is not too tight when the suspension(rear) is worked all the way through its travel. What sometimes appears loose gets real tight when compressed down al the way...if you are too tight it will limit suspension travel . Many riders out there stretch their chains prematurely from running them too tight.

If you want to do it right, get a fat friend or remove the rear shock. Get the swingarm parallel to the ground, and set the chain so it has a very small amount of slack(not tight or loose). Lock the axle in place, and remove the fat friend or replace the shock. Now push the chain straight up from the back of the chain slider and measure the distance between chain and slider. Write the measurment in the "notes" section of your manual.
