I have only been in the motorcycle hobby less than two years. My observation is the 99% of Harley folks are conservative, military supporting types.

My neighbors are going to the Harley Bash this week and the mentioned Bruce Springsteen.

Talk about an odd fit. Isn't the (Boss) going to give a speech at this Thursday's democratic convention.

Just food for thought.

I sorta see the point. While I am not into the HOG thing, most of the ones I know seem to be a conservitive bunch they also are southern so that really has more to do with it then any association with the type of bike they ride. As for myself, I really hate going to a concert and having the entertainment turn political. I used to like "THE BOSS" as much as anyone but when he a several others like him start the Bush Bashing and anti-war reteric I just can't stand them anymore no matter how talented they are musically.
I guess it just depends on your politics. I would not group HOGs in the same conservitaive political group. I am sure they run the full gammot the same as everyone.

My point is:

A company has to be careful about lining themselves up with these politically active celebs.

go to the Drudge Report today and read about Madonna's, and Ben Afleck's actions.

Why does it matter, It matters>>>

This guy springsteen stands against everything every Harley owner I know stands for.

Not gonna bash HD. Actually, I like them. They make some of the nicest looking bikes out there. Don't think I'll be buying one, though, unless I win the lottery.

Now, I will bash springsteen, though. NJ native, or not, I can't even listen to him on the radio. Soon as one of his songs start, i change the station. Same goes for the likes of Sean Penn and Robbins. Won't go see any of their movies. My own little boycott, even though I know it doesn't make any difference to them. Just my personal choice...

I am not bashing HD. In fact i was looking at a new one Saturday. But now i am proud to ride my Kawasaki and will buy another in a year are so.

Hope Kawasaki has better since than to align with a political activist.

What is sad is that alot of good Harley Folks will be cheering him on and not even know he supports the carbon tax that will be on the floor of congress early next year. Read about the carbon tax. What jobs have not already left the US will for sure leave if this is past.

If you do not support this tax call your congressman and let them know.

Save our hobby.

Did anybody read what Madonna did last week. Springsteen is in the same circle.

I would think that maybe "The Boss" is trying to convert us conservative types. The way I see it, he's got a pretty good chance of converting some. I voted for Bush twice. I won't be voting for him (or his clone) a third time. Not that I have any other viable choices...

The Boss didn't have to convince me of that though...

Remember, if you disagree then PM me. Don't disrespect the rules of this forum... it could get you banned but it will certainly get this post removed.

All I know is the Harley chicks at the HOG sponsored ride I did last Saturday were ugly! Not a single one that I'd look twice at! Honest...not a single one. I was stunned!

Maybe if The Boss had been there they would have been better looking.

maybe if they had beer there they would have been better looking!

Beer, The liquid courage that makes almost all women look good... I just wish it was the other way around ...wait... maybe my wife was drunk after all

I saw a woman/man at the Harley dealership yesterday. I swear it's true. I've seen some manly looking women, but honestly, this was a dude with a woman's hairdo and boobs. Really, his arms were hairy and muscled, kind of, and angled at the elbows like a man's. You know how men's elbows angle out and women's angle in when the arms hang straight by the sides? He/she was wearing a sleevless woman's shirt, so we could see his/her arms. He/she was sitting on the bench outside the dealership. It rained a little, and he/she got up and wiped the seat of a large, white, fairinged Harley, then sat back down on the bench.

I didn't like Bruce Springstein years ago anyway. He sounds constipated and straining when he sings.

Celebreties like Springsteen, Mellencamp, Dixie Chicks, Sean Penn, Madonna etc might as well burn a flag while their at it. I have no patience for anti-establishment rhetoric.

Frankly, I don't care who the president is at any given time. They think that "hey, I'm a movie/music star. My own misguided opinion of the word is more important than yours. After all, I earn a gazillion dollars a minute and even though I get my political information from 20 minutes of CNN a week I'll still bad mouth our leadership, even though I truely don't know what's going on in the oval office."

Well Mr./Mrs. celebrity you basicly suck and earn a one way ticket to suck-town. We all have the right to our beliefs, but don't use your popularity and wealth to cram yours down someone elses throat.

Vmuth, I certainly understand your point - and agree - about the seemingly strange fit between concervative buyers and liberal entertainers.

I just think someone's panties will get in a wad because HD is involved in the title.

Not that any entertainers have ever gone out of their way to sing patriotic anthems and ballads while wrapped in the US flag to make big bucks, all the while not really having the conviction that those who speak out against the establishment have...

But then again....I'm anti-establishment...what the hell am I doing riding a motorcyle?
