just curious for those of you who have installed crash bars/highway bars on your 900, which brand did you go with and why?

I'm leaning towards the Cobra for appx $185, but I'm not wuite sold %100 on it without hearing from those more experienced in the matter than I. :)

FWIW: I am hoping to add the OEM lowers as well to help with the buhuhuhuhfetting problem. The light bar is not an issue (I have no plans on adding it).

You'll have to relocate your horn and then it won't work. Just go down to your local NAPA autoparts store and get a FIAM am-80 horn and mount it under the front right tank using the supplied metal strip that comes with it and using the electrical group retainer screw.

If I could find the picture I'd show ya but it was on my putfile account.

I went with cobra and very easy to install... The horn moved to the right side and worked fine for me but if you want to change the horn, then would be the time. Instructions were easy to follow and didn't take but maybe 20 minutes total to install.
only thing I've heard is the cobra bars will not work if you want to get the kawi light bar and some others that have the signals hanging down. I don't have any experience with that so I can't tell you if its correct.

I used the Show Chrome for both my 900LT and V2K.

The reason I liked the Show Chrome is that it does not have a bar connecting the two sides. Both top and bottom of the guard connects to the frame, so it does not obstruct the view of the radiator. I installed the chrome radiator grille on both bikes.

AWESOME bike. ;)

If you are able and if you have time, would you mind posting a pic your 900Lt w/ the Show Chrome bars from the front. I'd like to see how they look from the front. Thanks!

I have the Baron engine guards and I couldn't be happier. They bolt up through the motor mounts and you don't have to move anything. Plus I really like the shape. They are not quite as rounded as the Cobra bars, I wish I could post some pics but I'm new to the internet and don't know how to do it, anyways a big thumbs up to Baron very nice quality.

I got the Cobra bars - bolt right on, I like the clamps which hold the bars to the frame - some cheaper bars have cheap-looking clamps. Dumped the stock horn, got a Wolo compact air horn and mounted it on the right hand bar with a Kury chrome P-clamp. Mounted the horn relay and the relay for my oil pressure gauge and volt meter where the stock horn was.
