They make open end attachments for torque wrenches. I don't think the accuracy is there, but at least it beats a blank.

A crowsfoot can be used, and you can avoid calculation adjustments as long as the foot is at exactly 90 degrees to the handle.

 

I was thinking the same thing about the crows foot but was unaware of the 90 deg offset not requiring any calculation. Good info as always Rich.

I'm suprised more people don't have something to say about this as it would seem to be a common problem! For instance when doing my valve cover bolts...yeah no way torque wrench is going to fit between frame and valve cover. and recently a biggie. My rear axle nut. I can fit an open end wrench on there easily between exhaust pipe but if I want to torque it back to spec I'd have to remove the whole exhaust pipe! Probably not a good one to guesstimate but I did I definitely winged it....hmm this feels like 90lbs of force

Get a 1ft long wrench on it and have your 90lb girlfriend stand on it
