That might be true with the VIN, but this is an engine serial number. The KX085A series started in 2001 and has continued pretty much uninterrupted. If you have the actual VIN from the triple tree neck, there are lots of VIN decoders (including one at Kawasaki.com) that can give you the frame year.

 

On all the decoders I am geting 2010 but surely this can not be right the man said it was 2005 :s

 

Your engine number is not your VIN.

 

I know I have the vin from the forks
