Have a 2001 mule 3000, have to remove the transmission, in doing so I have to remove the components of the drive converter. I've read lots of the pertinent threads in this forum but no one ever mentions how they removed the 'spider' off the main drive shaft. I assume Kawasaki makes a special tool that bolts onto the spider. Do you guys/gals have a trick to spin the spider off the shaft or did you all run out and buy the special tool?

Any help would be kindly appreciated...

I'm back... Kawasaki dealer called to let me know my repair manual for the mule was in.... Asked him about removing the clutch 'spider', he informed me that you can remove the whole clutch assembly ( I was taking it off peace meal ). That is a lot easier, would have known that if I'd had the patience to wait for the manual to come in. You still need a special tool to pull the whole clutch assembly off, he can get me an after market one for half the price of the Kawasaki tool. I saw a picture in one of the postings in this forum.
