I'm assuming I need to remove the plastic chrome speedo bezel on the tank which will expose another bolt for front of the tank, if the V2K is like the other Vulcans. I'll be darned if I can get that bezel to come off. Is there a super secret to this thing or am I just way off base?

Ha ha you are making it way tooo hard. Just take the bolt out of the rear of the tank, its under the front edge of the seat then pull the chrome coil cover off under the left side of the gas tank. The chrome cover has one phillips head screw on the front side of the cover. Now pull the chrome cover straight off away from the motor. You will see three plugs you need to disconnect all three and get the wires out from behind the little keepers so they are free. Next disconnect the fuel vent line at the rear of the tank on the left side just over the rear jug. Then disconnect the fuel line. If you look behind the coils you will see the fuel line. On it there is an orange connector that you push in both ears on and push it thru to release the keeper on the fuel line then pull down on the line to remove it. Now the tank just lifts up at the rear then pull the whole tank slightly to the rear and lift. If you have all the lines untangled that you unplugged by the coils it will just lift off.

The chrome bezel does not need to be removed.

If you have to pull very hard on the fuel line you probably don't have the catch thing pushed through enough. I know it sounds hard but after you do it three or four hundred times it we be second nature, unfortunately I know this to be true.
