Hey gang,

I need some help. I wanna turn my perfectly fine V800 Classic into a "tour" type bike. Pretty much like the look of a Dresser, but don't want to get rid of my bike to do it. So I'm looking for accessories to be able to create that myself.

I luv the look of this fairing ! Anyone know what make it is, and where I can get it?

I'm also looking for a pair of HUGE hard bags. I know I'm limited with "space" of the Vulcan's frame. But most of the hard bags I've seen are smaller than my purse! LOL!
I like the width and top opening of the big dresser bags.
Any suggestions? What would fit, where I could find them?

Also wanna put on a "beer box" with the back rest and stereo speakers, IF I can find one I like...not a priority, but still on the list :)

There was a fellow a long time ago, that had done this to his Vulcan.....I can't remember his name or site....but somehow I remember him being connected to Scootworks?? Anyone remember him? Gotta link?

That's about all I can think of....any other suggestions for this "transformation" would be welcome :)

That's the look that I'm going for! Sweet ride, is yours a 900?

I was looking at the "patrol" bags. How big are they? I know the site tells me size, but in terms of the storage...what can you get in them?

Yeah, 2009 Custom SE. The Patrol Bags are plenty big. You can get a lot in them. I had enough room for a 5 day trip's worth of clothes and random stuff, plus a leather jacket, and various other random stuff (gatorade bottles, food, etc). They're built like a tank...well worth the premium price tag, imho.

What are you talking about? Most every website I've been on lists the Vulcan 800 Classic.

Tsukayu (bags & fairing): Tsukayu Fairing, Hard Saddlebags and Touring Trunk

Here's a Google Search for the Vulcan 800 with the Mutazu bags: vulcan 800 mutazu - Google Search
Tsukayu do "list" and 800, that was the site I was looking at the patrol bags, but when you get down to the "order" spot, It only shows them available for the 900. I did see the fairings, there. They are not the one's that I like. Apparently that is a Harley fairing...so I need to do more research on it.

I will check out Mutazu. Thanks!!

If I had the cash to blow these are the hard bags I'd put on my 800A , relocated my rear signals so I could go with the smooth back style , these are good sized at 24 1/2" long , 14" tall and 7 1/2" deep , there a bit pricy but I've seen them on ebay for under 600.00 new.

Thanks! I will checked these out. How hard is it to relocate your turn signals? and where would ya put them???!? LOL

That just means they don't have a bike specific kit, so you have to order the universal kit...it doesn't mean they don't fit your bike.

Some thing like these would work on a classic ,

Tombstone Taillight and Turn Signal Combo | 3400591 | J&P Cycles

Kuryakyn Bullet Light Rear Turn Signal Kit | 320-345 | J&P Cycles

They also make this style for the classic with pockets molded in for the rear signals if you didn't want to relocate them , this is actually the part # listed for the Kawi 800's

Thanks, that explains the turnsignal moving! I wonder how much space you loose, and how weird it would be to pack around the cut outs on those bags! LOL

OK, I figured if they didn't list it fitting the 800, then it was too large a bag to install. why wouldn't they tell you that it needs a different mounting kit?

No matter how much money you spend, or how hard you try, the bike will never be a Harley, or look as good as a Harley. Save yourself a lot of time, money, and frustration and just buy a Harley.
LOL! I have no want to own a Harley, and I'm sure purchasing one would cost more than buying parts for mine :)

I just relocated my rear signals on my 800 custom so I can put larger saddle bags on mine, besides that I think they look better than the big ol stock ones.
I was thinking the same thing about the pockets in the hard bags , I'd rather have all the space possible is why I would move the signals.I posted them as an option because you would have to move them for any of these other large bag's in this thread.
I'm not sure why the link shows the price difference as the catalog shows the same price for either style @799.00 , Check ebay for them @ 590.00 there.
I've got some large Willie & Max throw-over bags coming for mine , I'd love to have hard bags but these will fit the bill for now.

Good to know about the turn signals. I know the "bag" space is very limited between the peg and the lights....

Mutazu's website has a pic gallery that shows the different bags on a lot of different bikes by make and model. Don't remember if they show any on an 800 or not. I have a harley fairing on my 900, and Matazu bags and trunk.
So what did you have to do to fit a Harley fairing on?

Thanks for the info, yours is the set up I'm looking to see! Does it make a difference in handling, with all this extra weight?
