G'day all
I have a VN900 classic 07 model and lately it has developed a "whirring/whining noise from the right hand side of the bike when backing down the gears, I have a feeling it is from the belt as it happens when the bike jas warmed up but doesnt happen when riding two up, any ideas why the belt would make the noise and what to do to fix it? i have done around 12,000km's on the bike (7500 miles)
Thanks
Greeny

I have the same with my vn900 2008. As soon as i pull the clutch the sound is gone. I suspect the bearing right behind the pulley because as soon as i pulle the clutch there is no tension on that bearing. As 100 km/h the sound is completely gone when i pull the clutch so it´s not the belt i think. I´m inclined to point a finger at the bearing right behind the pulley.
